One cannot define the college student so broadly. An example the age ranges of this English class range from late teens to early thirties. Many of the students also are not just a full time student, but also have part time or full time jobs. Students all have different backgrounds, different education levels, and experiences. For example when looking at Red Rocks there is the veteran students, international students, fresh out of high school students, and the students that are going back to school. Each student with something different and unique to offer to the school and their classmates.

Secret Life of College Students by Miriam and Bryson

Do Community College students really feel like they are in college? In movies and books, we see college as an escape from reality into a world of no work and partying 24/7, and start to our independence. It works well in movies, and yes we have no rules and we are able to wake up at what ever time we want. But the picture that the world paints of college isn't what those in Community College see. So with that said, each individual college student has a secret life, perhaps a single mother trying to provide a better life for her family, or the high school student who is getting a jump start on college. Either way College is just like life; HARD!
